Since people are asking, here's a couple pictures of the dangle mount.

I made this in an afternoon with scraps in from the garage. You can see in the second photo how I avoided drilling and compromising the tubes.


I cut the foam to fit my Nikon Coolpix s630, but the GoPro popped in there just fine.

I was told the Eric Raymond was likely the first person to use this kind of mount in the early 80s. Aaron Swepston has a picture on his Facebook page of his dangle mount which is much prettier than mine.

You have to reserve enough time before your approach to haul it up and secure it.
